Module overview
Please refer to Chapter 0 of the lecture notes, available on Blackboard. MATH40510 and MATH40520 are the undergraduate
and graduate versions of the module, respectively. The graduate version contains additional material on descriptive set theory.
Lecture notes, slides, homework etc
Notes, slides, homework to prepare for tutorials and selected solutions will be posted (approximately) weekly on Blackboard.
Tutorials and class tests (30%)
There will be 8 tutorials throughout the semester in 1.01 AG, at 4pm on Wednesdays, starting in week 2 (the week starting 19th September). During the tutorials we will cover questions from the homework
sheets. Your tutorial work will not be graded.
Three 50-minute tests, worth 10% each, will take place in 1.01 AG at 4pm on Wednesdays in weeks 5, 8 and 11. The tests will be based on the questions from the homework sheets.
