Saurabh Kumar — Postdoctoral Researcher
Saurabh is working on a soil modelling project funded by the VistaMilk II Research Ireland Centre, co-supervised by Lennon O'Naraigh. The project aims to improve the Irish grass growth forecast by implementing the Richards Equation across Irish farms to predict the soil moisture as a function of time and depth.
Gabriel Cairns — PhD Student
Gabriel is an EPSRC-funded DPhil student at the Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford, co-supervised by Ian Hewitt. Gabriel uses mathematical modelling and numerical simulations to study how sedimentary basins affect the subglacial hydrology of ice streams in Antarctica.
Daire O'Donovan — PhD Student
Daire is a PhD student in the School of Maths and Stats at UCD. Daire uses variational calculus and numerical methods to optimise wave-body interactions for bodies floating on the surface of the water.
