Further informationAbstract: Lipschitz-free (hereafter free) spaces are Banach spaces with
links to optimal transport theory, metric geometry and geometric measure theory. They have a reputation for being `easy to define but hard to analyse'. For example, it can be difficult to decide whether two free spaces are linearly isomorphic. Recently I have been using descriptive
set theory to probe this question.
Despite being the third in a series of talks on this topic, much of this talk will be an introduction to free spaces and their connections to the areas mentioned above. I will finish by presenting a new result concerning free spaces and Pełczyński's universal basis space.
