This page describes how the UCD Relativity Group website handles your data. In short: we collect nothing about you.
This site is statically generated: every page is pre-rendered HTML, served as a file. There is no database, no backend application and no server-side processing of anything you do here. Nothing you view on this site is recorded by us.
What we do not do
We want to be specific, because many websites say otherwise:
- No analytics. This site runs no analytics or measurement service of any kind — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no self-hosted alternative.
- No advertising or marketing trackers, and no third-party tracking pixels.
- No contact form, mailing list or newsletter. We do not collect your name, email address, postal address or phone number anywhere on this site.
- No comment system, so nothing you write is sent to a third party.
- No accounts and no logins.
The web server hosting this site will keep its own access logs, as essentially all web servers do. Those are operated by UCD, not by this website.
Cookies and local storage
This site sets no cookies at all. That is also why you are not asked to accept any: there is nothing to consent to.
If you switch the site into dark mode, that preference is saved in your browser’s local storage. It is not a cookie, it stays on your device, and it is never sent anywhere.
The one exception is the embedded Google map described below, which is served by Google and may set cookies of its own.
Third-party content
- Google Maps. Our contact page embeds a Google map showing where we are. When that page loads, your browser contacts Google, which may set its own cookies and will see your IP address. This is the only third-party service used anywhere on the site. If you would rather not load it, avoid the contact page — our address is also given there in plain text above the map.
- Fonts are served from this site, not from a font CDN, so no request goes to Google or any other font provider.
- Outbound links. We link out to arXiv, DOI resolvers, ORCID, GitHub, UCD pages and similar. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
Your rights
Since we hold no personal data about visitors to this site, there is generally nothing for us to give you access to, correct, or delete. If you have contacted a group member directly by email, that correspondence is handled under UCD’s own data protection policies.
