Report about the activities of the Committee for Electronic Publishing of the EMS March-Nov 2011 Date 14.11.2011. -- EuDML: Intermediate report (quoting Thierry Bouche): We reached the point where all metadata for all expected collections are stored and converted to a unique format (NLM), and they can be searched and accessed from the demo server. Most advanced features are currently being integrated, some tools have been published online so that people can imagine what the project could offer. A EuDML event in Bertinoro this summer was the occasion to get some feedback from MKM and mathematician people. -- EuDML Scientific Advisory Board: Chair: Ulf Rehmann, the board has almost been established, 8 scientist so far have accepted to help here, we hope to convince two more. -- Digitization of the ECM proceedings ECM 1 (Paris, 1992, 3 volumes) ECM 2 (Budapest, 1996, 2 volumes) ECM 3 (Barcelona, 2000, 2 volumes) The 8 print volumes have been donated by the publisher, and they have already been digitized and ocr'd. It remains to extract the single articles in order to allow their individual access. This will be accomplished during the next months. -- State of the EoM (Encyclopedia of Mathematics) project: The (more than 8000) EoM pages are freely accessible under the Creative Commons Attribution Share-Alike License, which is the standard license for Wikipedia pages. Encoding of mathematics can be done as in Wikipedia pages, moreover, the server is equipped with the MathJax software, but also allows to encode mathematics in TeX or LaTeX with practically no limitations and allows nice rendering of formulas, diagrams and so on. An editorial board has been established of so far 28 members, the project has been launched recently, see http://www.encyclopediaofmath.org Main initial task: Convert the old style pages into TeX in order to take advantage of the smooth rendering capabilities of MathJax. It would be good if many voluntary helpers could be found for this.
