Report about the activities of the Committee for Electronic Publishing of the EMS July 2010 -- March 2011 Date 11.03.2011. -- In October 15, 2010 there was an "EuDML workshop with content providers" in Prague, attended (for the EPC) by Ulf Rehmann cf. http://www.eudml.eu/news/eudml-workshop-content-providers-october-15 for further details. -- In October, upon a suggestion by Ari Laptev, the committee discussed a possible participation in a European FP7 call for a data e-infrastructure project, however, it was decided not to participate at that time, and to unite all efforts in 2011 when the EU will advertise a call for a big infrastructure project which could include all Mathematics. There are two further pending activities: -- Encyclopaedia of Mathematics (EoM) A new web page has been set up by Springer, but this is not yet publicly open. Moreover, so far it was not possible to exercise the editorial processes needed for maintainance of the articles, but the technicalities for this are expected to be finalized soon. The EMS is expected to set up an editorial board for the update and maintenance of the EoM. We should find volonteers (editors) who want to care about the articles of their research area. Volunteers so far: Keith Dennis (Group Theory) Ulf Rehmann (Algebraic groups and related areas: Azumaya and Lie algebras, quadratic forms, Galois cohomology) Further nominations are wanted! -- Digitization of the EMS Proceedings: After the successful digitization of the ICM proceedings by Keith Dennis and Ulf Rehmann (cf. http://www.mathunion.org/ICM/), both volunteered to digitize the ECM proceedings as well. This only concerns the proceedings of the congresses ECM 1 (Paris, 1992, 3 volumes) ECM 2 (Budapest, 1996, 2 volumes) ECM 3 (Barcelona, 2000, 2 volumes) since the volumes of leter congresses are electronically born. In order to digitize the above volumes it is necessary to have copies of the books to scan them (for that they have to be cut), and Birkhäuser promised to donate the volumes for this purpose. As soon as they arrive they will be digitized.
