Dr. David Geraghty (IAS and Princeton)

will speak on

Potential automorphy and applications

Time: 4:00PM
Date: Thu 2nd February 2012
Location: Mathematical Sciences Seminar Room (Ag 1.01) [map]

Abstract: I will discuss recent work on potential automorphy of Galois representations. These results imply the meromorphic continuation of various L-functions. The connection with Sato-Tate conjectures will also be discussed. This is joint work with Tom Barnet-Lamb, Toby Gee and Richard Taylor.

(This talk is part of the K-Theory, Quadratic Forms and Number Theory series.)
