Dr. James O'Shea (UCD)
will speak on
Isotropy over function fields of Pfister forms
Time: 4:00PM
Date: Thu 6th October 2011
Location: Mathematical Sciences Seminar Room (Ag 1.01)

Abstract: An important question in the theory of quadratic forms is to determine which anisotropic forms become isotropic over the function field (or generic isotropy field) of a given form. We will consider this question with respect to function fields of Pfister forms, discussing the connections with excellence properties and outlining answers in certain special cases.
(This talk is part of the K-Theory, Quadratic Forms and Number Theory series.)
