Abstract: Let K be a field of characteristic different from 2. To each quadratic space $(V,q)$ over $K$, we attach a number called the q-level of K which is a possible generalization of the level of $K$. In this talk, we will give some general results and examples about this number and highlight the case where q is a
Pfister form over K by obtaining generalizations of classical results in the algebraic theory of quadratic forms.
(This talk is part of the K-Theory, Quadratic Forms and Number Theory series.)
