Dr. Alexei Zaytsev (UCD)

will speak on

Some properties of the Galois closure of an optimal tower

Time: 4:00PM
Date: Wed 3rd March 2010
Location: Mathematical Sciences Seminar Room [map]

Abstract: In this talk we will discuss a tower of function fields which attains the Drinfeld Vladutc bound and construct its Galois closure. We find the number of rational points and genus for each step of the new tower.

(This talk is part of the K-Theory, Quadratic Forms and Number Theory series.)
