Applications of patching methods to quadratic forms

Abstract: Patching methods have been used in Galois theory for quite some time, mainly to construct Galois extensions with given Galois group. The talk explains a more recent version of patching and its relation to local global principles for algebraic group actions. We then give applications to quadratic forms.
