Prospects from low-frequency gravitational wave astronomy

Time: 2:15PM
Date: Thu 10th April 2008
Location: Mathematical Sciences Seminar Room [map]

Further information

Abstract: Gravitational Wave Astronomy is an emergent area that aims
at discovery in astrophysics and cosmology through the detection and study of gravitational radiation from different astrophysical objects. In this talk I will review the basics of Gravitational Wave Astronomy and will describe some of the most exciting discoveries that low-frequency gravitational wave detectors like LISA can achieve.

(This talk is part of the Applied and Computational Mathematics series.)
