Abstract: We will study the level sets of the two-dimensional continuum Gaussian free field. These are conformally invariant fractal sets that have played a key role in the modern understanding of the geometric properties of the Gaussian free field and the Liouville measure. In this talk, I will present their axiomatic definition, give an idea of their construction, and discuss some of their main geometrical properties: their fractal dimension; and the connectivity properties of them and the loops they form. This talk is based on joint works with Juhan Aru, Titus Lupu, Lukas Schoug, Fredrik Viklund and Wendelin Werner.
