Abstract: In this talk I will discuss recent progress on describing correlation and partition functions for a vertex operator algebra on a Riemann surface of arbitrary genus g. For genus g >1 I will describe relationships to the genus g geometry. This is talk is mostly based on recent joint work with Mike Welby.
