UCD Relativity Group

The UCD Relativity Group is dedicated to advancing research in black holes, gravitational waves and related areas of theoretical physics. With a strong international reputation, we contribute to both the theoretical development and numerical modelling of Einstein’s equations, with applications ranging from astrophysics and cosmology to fundamental physics. The group co-founded and maintains the Black Hole Perturbation Toolkit. We are heavily involved in the ESA-led Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) Mission, spearheading Irish involvement in this ESA Flagship mission through LISA Ireland.

The Group fosters a dynamic and highly collaborative scientific environment, encouraging close interaction among researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students. We are also actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate education, public engagement, and initiatives promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion.
