We present a model for road cycling based on motion on a curve. The Frenet-Serret frame provides a convenient setting. Many of the forces involved point in these natural directions and we obtain important descriptive parameters for the route such as curvature. We develop a framework allowing for control of motion on a prescribed route. We'll discuss (i) a brief topical introduction to the science around cycling, (ii) a description of the model, and (iii) interpretations from the model regarding pedalling and braking on meandering routes.
