Abstract

In this work we develop a game-stochastic optimization model including transmission network and capacity constraints to analyze market power, price behavior and the trade-off between cheap energy (renewal, wind and solar) and the natural intermittency of these resources. We analyze first the equilibrium existence, and then nodal pricing and algorithm for computing the optimal strategies. We also explore regulation aspects of the electricity markets using stochastic optimization and principal agent techniques.
